How to sell on LensFinder.com

Welcome to the LensFinder “How To” on selling your cameras/lenses/filters with LensFinder. This article will take you step by step through the selling process from creating an account to listing your item to confirming it’s purchased and shipping it out.

Step 1: Creating Your Account

First, click the “Create Account” button at the top right of the homepage.

Next, enter all of your personal information to tell us who you are:

Pick a shop name, upload your avatar image, and you can also add a banner image that appears when people click on your store.

Enter your shipping and billing addresses.

Tell us your store policies like if you will accept returns and the areas you have to collect sales tax or VAT.

Step 2: Listing your item

Once you have completed entering all the required information, click “Sign Up” and you will be taken back to the homepage where you will then click the “Sell” button in the top right corner.

For the purposes of this article, we will be walking through how to sell specifically lenses. However, the same principles apply to cameras and filters as well.

Once you are to the “Ready to Sell” page, click on the “Lenses” button, which is circled in red in the below sample image.

Next enter all details for your item. Any box with a red star next to it is required information. You will not be able to list your item without these details. All of the other boxes are optional, but having as much correct information as possible will increase the chances of your item selling quickly.

Next enter the item details and condition. Note that accurate condition is very important and only 10% or less of items qualify for "Near Mint". If in doubt then list the item as "Good". Please be sure to attached your item photos here. If you miss any red star * details on the listing page then you will have to attach your photos again.

Advanced options are a great way to stand out in our search platform. The more info you put here the better. For the red star * "features", you should type in key words or pick from the drop down. The more the better!

Next you enter the shipping details. Our system calculates based on USA shipping rates pulled from USPS, Fedex, and UPS published rates. If you want to be sure to get enough for shipping then you should enter your own shipping charge.

Step 3: Choose your method of payment

Tell us how you want to be paid. PayPal is the default option however we do offer other payment services that are more secure so have a look at all optiopns before making a selection.

Once you have chosen your method of payment, click the “Submit” button to publish your listing.

Step 4: Account Dashboard

After you have submitted your listing, you will be taken to your account dashboard page where you can manage active/sold listings and also make any changes to your profile that you please by clicking the “Edit Profile” in the top right corner (circled in red below).

Once your item sells, you will receive email confirmation of this from both LensFinder and whichever service you chose to accept payment through. For the purposes of this article, we will be using PayPal.

This is what these emails typically look like. If you are ready to ship your item, click the “here” or “Your Orders” button underlined in blue in the email you received from LensFinder.

Step 6: PayPal

In the email you received from PayPal, you will find a link to the transaction details in blue. Click that link and it will take you to your PayPal account where you can find the email of the purchaser of your item in the “Paid By” column (this will be important once you ship).
